Human Resources is the field I would like to pursue my career in. I learned a lot while in this course and feel that I have a very good understanding of how the business world operates. In the class we had to create a career plan on where we are today and where we see ourselves in the next 5 years, as well as the next 10 years. I am hoping to have a great job at a high class business firm working with a team to accomplish our goals and create new ways to make our company one of a kind.
Career Plan
The communications field is my major objective as a student at Blackburn. I have learned several different forms of communication through my years attending here. I feel that after completing all of my courses I have a much better understanding of how important it is to know the proper ways to communicate.

Graphics Design
I have always found Art interesting and being in the Graphics Design class really taught me how creative you can get with the usage of, Illustrator, Photo shop, and In Design applications. In the course we created four different projects. One was an Abstraction piece, another was using a film strip off a movie and taking the image to another level with our own ideas and techniques using a grid. Our third project we created a poster image for a Symphony piece. The final project we created an illustration of a man told in the story of Moby Dick. The class took a lot of hard work and dedication, which I feel that I did my best. Here is an example of one of my projects.
Media Studies
In Media Studies I completed several different pieces on academic writings and human compositions on their social, historical, political, geographical, cultural, and political importance's. We had to write a few papers on different types of technology sources and how they have evolved over the years. The paper that I have listed is one that I did on the world of electronics.

Introduction to Communication Studies
This Introduction course was a history based class on the the different types of communication areas of study and research. I am very good at remembering dates and times so this class was very easy for me to understand the concepts and ideas. There are several ways to communicate with someone either by text, talk, and body language; as well as just listening.
Introduction to Advertising
Introduction to Advertising is a essential class when it comes to how you can communicate. The class studied not only advertising but the career areas within the field with an emphasis on marketing and advertising to the media. Advertising is just one type of way to promote or obtain awareness for something. Advertising is not as easy as it seems though there is a lot to it and requires a great deal of knowledge and understanding on what will sell and how to sell it.
Intercultural Communication
Intercultural was very interesting because we learned about cross-cultural communication and focused on special languages, stereotypes, and nonverbal communication. We watched a movie in class called " Last of the Mohegans," which gave us a great deal of understanding how times were with the Indians. Knowing how life and cultures were thousands or million of years ago is something that everyone should have an understanding of. It helps you realize how hard life was and how grateful we should be to be free in the United States of America.

Advanced Composition
Advanced Composition was my first composition class and this is the class where I began to enjoy the idea of writing. The focal point of the class was learning how to write. Throughout the class we completed several different types of papers. There was descriptive, reflective, persuasive, and narratives pieces. All of them focused on different styles of writing and different ideas. Descriptive was about describing an event or story. Reflective was writing about a moment and building from it. Persuasive was about trying to persuade someone to do something or agree with you. The narrative piece was about you( me) as an individual. Each paper was important and they all had a purpose. My paper called Intense Tanning was a persuasive piece on how tanning can affect you if you do it for so long.

Introduction to Journalism
Journalism was a very interesting class. I felt like I really became aware of how to write correct narratives and how to create a good paper with the understanding of outlining and how to transition the flow of the paper. Writing has always been an interest of mine. I feel that it lets me be creative and allows me to use my imagination and express my ideas. While in the journalism course not only did I learn a lot on how to write well, I was able to write several different pieces about my life and experiences. Journalism is a class that I feel everyone should be required to take because it allows for you not only to learn but use your own experiences and knowledge to create something even greater than what you could only imagine.
Business and Communication

Communications is another objective that I feel is very important in the career field. Communication is needed everywhere and there are so many different forms of how to communicate so having the knowledge to understand and adapt to this ideas and changes is so important.
